Demand Democracy

We strive for an open and accessible government that's responsive to the public interest.

THE ISSUE

Political integrity is vital to a functioning democracy. Yet the U.S.’s political integrity laws—including our laws governing lobbying, campaign finance, and ethics—have not kept pace with changes in our politics and political culture.

We strive for a more open and accessible government that is responsive to the public interest—not just special interests. This means well-funded public financing programs for political campaigns, restricting foreign influence on our elections, voting laws that remove barriers to the ballot box, disclosure laws that require big spenders to disclose the true sources of the money they spend, and ethics laws that close the “revolving door” between public service and private industry.
